Biography
I studied at Newcastle between 91 and 94 and later in Cumbria in 2000, and have now been making sculpture for 15 years. Site specific work is situated in various locations in the North, including Grizedale Forest. Work has been exhibited at various locations, including Tullie House, NCCA, and more recently, The Mitchell in Glasgow.
Stone and timber are the main materials I use, sometimes constructed, more laterly carved. Patterns and shapes found in nature provide a starting point for the abstract pieces. The sensual qualities of the materials are important to the work.
