The Spinning Woman - test your brain

THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or
anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and
change the direction; see if you can do it.

spinning woman

She is definatly going clockwize, however much I stare at it!!!!

spinning woman

She's totally going clockwise!

spinning woman

seems anti clockwise to me... wheres the answer?

spinning woman

I saw her going clockwise and with difficulty made her change direction - however when going anti-clockwise her raised leg appears to lengthen as she turns away so I think the image was made from a clockwise source. I'd like to think my right brain dominates but as I'm at least as logical/language based as anything else I'm afraid this doesn't prove much! Fun though.

spinning woman

I've been mesmerised by this for months now, sad I know, but she now turns either way with ease and although it's logical, I've only just noticed that her arms swap over too. I really should get out more...

he he

its good fun isn't it - i'm on the look out for more fun things!

spinning woman

Can only get her to spin clockwise I'm afraid

That is so cool - I got her

That is so cool - I got her going both ways!

Well I got her going clock

Well I got her going clock wise.... I can make her go the other way, but only If I hold my breath...?

spinning woman

I saw her as going both ways without even trying to focus. What does that say about the state of my brain!! It's a good one isn't it. Thanks Kate

spinning both ways

You can see it both ways because the perspective is false. Look at her foot in the air. As it crosses her upright leg it is small (suggesting further away) and it gets bigger as it reaches both left and right sides thereby allowing both spinning directions to be possible. Its less obvious with her hands. So the real way to read it is as that she is spinning both ways without going full circle. That's my theory anyway. But then it is late.....

spinning woman

Clockwise....whatis the answer?

Kate Wise

spinning

wow, at first I thought it could only ever be anti-clockwise, but with some effort I could get her to go the other way, then it got easier to make her go one way then the other without her actually completing a full circle. So its half one way, then half the other, ohh I'm so sad, I know.
Nice post.
william

any which way but loose?

He He you sound confused as to which way you want togo! Nice control William!

spinning woman

I have watched her going both ways......If I focus on her feet she goes clockwise and if I focus on her head she turns anti-clockwise. It takes a couple of turns to make the change though....
