Precious Earth Exhibition at Silloth (My first atempt at a press release!)

I have been very lucky in been able to secure the National Precious Earth Exhibition for Cumbria! The exhibition is now on display at The Solway Discovery Centre Silloth, which is open 7 days a week between 10 am to 4pm. The exhibition is a BWA (British Woodcarvers Association) A NATIONAL touring exhibition of wood sculpture by skilled carvers from throughout the UK. The exhibition is loosely based on current concerns with the state of our planetary ecology. The woodcarving were first shown at Westonbirt, National Arboretum.
There're 38 woodcarvings pieces, approximately half of which are animal carvings in various styles. The remainder of the carvings show a verity of styles and interpretation of the theme, the use of other/mixed medium and finishes; the whole exhibition is very inspiring to say the least! It sends a clear message and underlines the importance of "Our Precious Earth"
The Solway Woodcarving Group, who are hosting the exhibition, were founded in October 2006, for people wishing to join the Solway Woodcarving Group should telephone 016973 31995 OR call in at the Silloth Community Centre on Mondays/Wednesday evening between 7.00 PM and 9.30 PM .
