Originally from the Lake District, Zoe Baker has travelled extensively for most of her life. She currently lives in Staveley & creates her artwork either from home, or at the source of inspiration.

Zoe's work makes reference to many of our planets indigenous cultures & environmental issues, as well as the natural world around us. Her sometimes 'unconventional' approach to the use of 'conventional' materials, has led her to experiment widely within the area of mixed media, including textiles.

Although Zoe would describe her work as mostly 'abstract', she still aims to create 'strands of consciousness'.......small notions of recognition, through her use of symbols, colour, texture & pattern.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Zoe uses the written word in the form of quotations, in a much more deliberate & thought provoking way.
