EXHIBITION-Once upon a time...........

An exhibition of paintings by Kate Bentley at The Sugar Store Gallery,Brewery Arts Centre,Kendal.

Kate originally trained in sculpture, and graduated from Sheffield in 1986. She then
followed a career in theatre-design and as a freelance designer. In the 1990s Kate
made a shift to painting as her primary media and in 1999 made the decision to
paint on a full-time basis.
This new body of work has evolved from working predominatley from
the imagination and encompasses three visual journeys.
Anyone researching into the background origins of these childhood apologues will
realise they are incredibly dark and sinister. Moral to this story-
