North Yorkshire Open Studios 08
SEE THE BEAUTY OF NORTH YORKSHIRE’S LANDSCAPE THROUGH AN ARTISTS EYES
NORTH YORKSHIRE OPEN STUDIOS 08
MAY 17/18 & MAY 24/25/26
The 2008 North Yorkshire Open studios is spread over two weekends, including Bank Holiday Monday 26 May. All studios will be open on all 5 days between 10.00am - 5.00pm. There is no entry fee to any of the studios which are grouped geographically into the Dales, Central area of North Yorkshire and Moors and Coast.
People will be given the chance to peep inside the studio spaces of over 100 contemporary artists and makers based across North Yorkshire in May. The 2008 North Yorkshire Open Studios, now in its fourth year, will see artists across Britain’s most beautiful county welcoming people into their studios, which range from bedrooms to barns.
Whats new this year? – Over 30 artists new to the scheme, will ensure there is something fresh for visitors to see. All works have been carefully selected and range from paintings and prints to craft based work, sculpture and furniture – making this is an ideal chance to buy art directly from the maker.
This year Art Connections is delighted to be collaborating with Arts in Richmondshire, Create in Scarborough and Rural Arts in Thirsk. These organisations, along with Ryedale Folk Museum, are each hosting selling exhibitions featuring work by NYOS artists which should provide a useful starting point for visitors. An additional programme of residencies is also arranged.
For full details and maps of the studios please contact Art Connections for a free full colour brochure tel:01756 748529 or email:info [at] art-connections [dot] org [dot] uk. This is also available to download from website www.artconnections.org.uk
