On Saturday, 29th September, a group of 15 diggers completed the elliptical trench that filled with water at high tide and later revealed the circle reflecting light. It couldn’t really have gone better and there was an air of excitement waiting for the circle to be revealed as if waiting for an eclipse.
I intend to list all those people who gave their support over the seven months since conception when I write up the process in more detail for my website. But thanks to you all. You know who you are.
Thanks also to the FRED 07 organisers who contributed to making this project possible.
On the day, a large crowd watched the circle being revealed by the ebb tide and even though the sky was overcast it could not really have gone any better.
The following day saw a clearer sky with a fantastic morning and an impressive sunset that caught the circle in its light.
I tracked the circle over the week and it lasted until Friday evening, which was the last time I saw it. It was growing so feint by then you had to know what you were looking at to know it as the circle – it had become almost just a memory, which is how most things end.

Paul, You should be
Paul,
You should be delighted with how this (and the subsequent talk) went. One of FRED's highlights for me.
