The Royal Over-Seas League Music Award Trophy

Category: Sculpture / 3D

The Royal Over-Seas League Music Award Trophy.

The trophy is a re-interpretation of a traditional trophy, re-designed using CAD software. It has been designed to reflect that the prize-winner, Sarah-Jane Brandon is a soprano, so the main part of the trophy represents music coming from an open mouth.
The Trophy has been manufactured by Rapid Prototyping and then undergone a unique infiltration procedure. The final stage was the application of a unique non-fired eco-ceramic surface, formulated to resemble classic Wedgwood black basalt ware.

The Trophy was presented at a concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London on May 19th 2008.
