Life Art groups in Cumbria

Hi

Not sure if this is the right section to post this in but I wasnt sure where else to put it.. Im looking for information on any life art groups in Cumbria who may be interested in a model. I am a beginner but keen to find some local groups who would give me a go . As I work full time I would find weekday (daytime) groups difficult but could do evenings or weekends. If anyone knows of any such groups or could suggest someone to contact I would love to hear from you..I should perhaps put Im female, late 30's
Thanks

Penrith any good?

Hello Savvy,

I'm hopefully going to be starting some life drawing sessions in Penrith in the new year. We've got a fantastic space above a shop and we're just waiting for it to be cleared out and cleaned up a bit. Is Penrith any good?

I'll be looking for several life models if there are any more out there (its great drawing 2!) and other artists who would be interested in joining the sessions.

life group in Penrith

I'm going to be in Penrith the end of Feb and would like to join an art group to do some drawing. Please let me know if it's possible to join your group.

I hope to be moving to Cumbria in the near future but don't know what area yet. Do you know of any other groups in other areas?

Many thanks for your help
Kind Regards,
Sara

i dont mind modelling

as long as i can take part in classes when theres another model... and as long as its not too cold and theres a chance for a cup of tea at some point :)

This site might be of use to people thinking of becomming a life drawing model... http://www.modelreg.co.uk/

and this one for folk that want to down load a virtual model... Any budding photographers out there a possible UK businness set up.. on similar lines???? http://www.modelalisa.com/ you'd have to check copy/artist liecience RIGHTs first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that life drawings website

with the pre-posed models on looks quite good but personally i tend to just photograph myself in the poses i want to draw and work that way- ive tried finding online models before and i find its much quicker, simpler and easier to just draw myself.
having said that, i much prefer working from a live model- and not having to examine all my faults in such detail every time i want to draw! :s
hee hee

i find

drawing from life completely different from a flat photo - it also brings totally different results!

i'm looking forward to getting the sessions sorted out - will post more info here as and when it develops...

If a group wants to form for Life Drawing...I have free use of the Silloth Community hall in Silloth... If a number of us can organise a life drawing session or sessions.. Even when time comes that I have to start paying it's only £6.00 per hour...

One room is used on a Friday (Age concern) I have the larger room, Can't be viewed from out side..it's got benches in there, but they can easily be pushed to one side...

Would anyone else be interested in joining a life drawing group? If so please let me know and I'll start making enquiries..
Weekends or evening would be better.

Life Drawing at Silloth Community Hall

I have five members of the Solway Woodcarvers/Sculpture group that would be interested in forming/taking part in a Life Drawing and general Drawing group. Are any of you interested in taking part? If I can get enough people interested I will make arrangements with the management of the Silloth Community Hall.

How many interested?
When?
Evenings?
Weekends?
How much do you consider a fair price to pay?

im rubbish at geography...

how far away from carlisle is silloth?:D
