The well established studio group in Kendal, Green Door, burned down early Friday 19th February.

13 artists studios were disctroyed in the fire, containinng equipment, artworks, a new print studio and  "30 years worth of sketch books".

This is a devastating event that has affected the livelihoods of some of the county's long standing professional artists, and a membership group with an established and well respected history. 

Although many items are not recoverable, including artworks and sketchbooks, the Network is inviting the cultural community at large to offer anything toward helpng the artists re-establish their studios and careers. If you feel that you have any equipment, spare kit or materials that would be useful then please do get in touch.We hope to support the artists in any way that we can.

A Facebook group has been set up to focus on the regenerstion of Green Door studios following the  fire.
