Feedback for our web developers
I am meeting with Hydrant to discuss issues and possible changes to the Cumbria Network web site.
Could you let me know of any issues, problems (e.g. logging into the site) or any changes you would like to see on the site either cosmetic or even new features.
Brian

general
i probably have the profile of an occasional user, as i haven't studied the site properly or found my way round it. therefore whenever i need to go on it, i always seem to be starting again - not knowing how to get to where i want to go.
one or two points might help:
ive just been on the ENYAN site and they positively make you salivate to register and login, by being friendly about it. on this site it is a YOU MUST.
it was great having your link to the forum, but then after i logged in i wasn't taken back to it but to the home page - if i'm busy i would normally at that point not bother to find it again.
did we reject the idea of drop down menus on the links at the top? a simple one linking jobs with opportunities would be useful maybe.
i do like the look of the site though and should get to know it better - sorry.
feedback
I would like to see the members page modified so that it doesn't open onto the map with most of our 1000+ members' flags very slowly appearing. It would be better if we could intentionally select the map, or small areas, to view members' details or profiles. It may be useful to have a list as an additional option alongside a map and have the flags pop up as names are selected.
A function requested at one of our Penrith hub meetings was for an email alert whenever we have new mail in our network inbox.
quick and obvious
There's no link to the site (home page) from the newsletter. Sounds daft but the number of times I thought I'd just look at the site when the newsletter comes in.
Also, some editorial input and fact checking on posts would be good. Too often events are posted minus vital info, like venue or time.
Oh. And can we have moderators looking after the forums? No cause for big concern yet, but there doesn't seem to be any checks in place to stop abuse or mis-use.
Other than that, it's OK.

i would like it if when a response is posted on the forum it is automatically put to the bottom of the page, rather than currently when if someone clicks reply to a post it is placed below that post. this would make it a lot easier to read through longer threads as otherwise the posts get all jumbled up.
also it would be good if when you login you are left on the same page, rather than being sent to your home page. as the above user said, its a bit of a hassle having to find where you were again.
other than that, i like it :)
