Carlisle Hub update

looking at the forum it looks like its all quiet in carlisle, in reality its hectic.

We are involved in a number of things in the next few months.

First up, we have the carlisle arts festival, for which we are maintaining a visual and performative presence in the city centre, with a major visual art focus around lowther arcade, which Caroline Dalton has been working with the landlords and businesses to let us take over for the duration-including empty shop units, windows, the walkways and inside the Circle Bar.
Freerange Artists will have a book and artists multiples stall in the 'Geodome' next to the sportman pub, also through out the weekend, and we will launch the next set of Freerange Poetry books with a reading in waterstones.
There are a number of participatory events over the weekend that we will be advertising over the coming weeks- including le pleine air painting on the castle lawn and a tea party by the bandstand.

Next up we have a event within the lanes shopping centre, still in the planning but set to be in the first week of august.

And finally we are very excited to announce that we have had our proposal selected for Fred-the cumbrian art invasion. For which we will be moving the border, designing tarten, inviting political partys and hosting a ceilgh?? ... that will be at the end of september.

We meet on the second wednesday of the month,at 8pm,in the source, denton holme. We are very open to new people and maintain a fluid, involved and varied membership.

x Hannah
