Art / craft / design & music...

I've just been reading an article in one of the weekend papers about musicians and bands seeking direct patronage from big brands (Groove Amada the latest with Bacardi)... interesting read, taking the record labels out of the equation. It made me wonder about the visual arts / design / craft equivalent. Ok, art / craft / design have their own variance in the way they work, particularly in terms of patronage, but they are all ultimately different from the music industries - or are they? Any thoughts?

Art is essentially

Art is essentially Individual..Indivdually interesting, Individually challenging and Individually engaging! In fact Individuallity Makes the Artist!

I read with interest... I thought... I'll think about the idea.... Still thinking!
